Matteo Renzi
was born in Florence on January 11, 1975. He served as the 27th Prime Minister of the Italian Republic from 2014 to 2016, becoming the youngest Prime Minister in the history of Italy since its national unification in 1861. Before his tenure as Prime Minister, Renzi was the Mayor of Florence from 2009 to 2014.
Renzi participated in three editions of the G7 (Brussels 2014, Germany 2015, Japan 2016) and three G20 events (Australia 2014, Turkey 2015, China 2016). He also held the presidency of the European Union from July to December 2014 and inaugurated the Milan Expo in 2015. An accomplished author, he has written several books, with sales exceeding one million copies.
Currently, he serves as a Senator of the Italian Republic and holds academic positions as an Adjunct Professor at Stanford University in Florence and New York University Abu Dhabi. Additionally, he is a Strategic Counselor at the Tony Blair Institute and a board member of the FII Institute. Renzi sit on several advisory boards, including Algebris in London, Lakestar in Zürich, the Royal Commission for AlUla in Saudi Arabia, Luma Group, NEOM, and TCI. He is also the former Editor of the newspaper Il Riformista.
