Joseph Oughourlian
is the founder of Amber Capital, a firm he established in New York in November 2005. Oughourlian began his career at Société Générale in Paris in 1994 and moved to New York in 1996. In 1997, he started managing direct investments for Société Générale in New York, which led him to create the Amber Fund in October 2001 with initial capital from that bank.
Oughourlian graduated from the HEC business school and IEP (Sciences-Po), both in Paris, and earned his postgraduate degree in Economics from the Sorbonne in Paris. He is a member of the board of directors for several companies.
He was appointed to PRISA's board of directors in December 2015 and became vice-chairman in April 2019. In February 2021, he was named chairman of PRISA, one of the largest media companies in the Spanish-speaking world.
