Jaume Duch Guillot,
(born in 1962 in Barcelona) is a prominent Spanish politician and communicator. He holds a law degree from the University of Barcelona and has dedicated his career to European institutions. He began as a European Union official in 1990 and has held several key positions, most recently serving as the Minister of European Union and Foreign Action of the Generalitat de Catalunya since August 2024.
Prior to this appointment, he was the Director-General for Communication and spokesperson for the European Parliament from 2017. Duch led the communication strategy and was responsible for coordinating the press room, as well as directing media from 2006 to 2017. He has also served as an associate professor of Public International Law and contributed to significant documents, including the European Constitution.
Duch is a member of the Advisory Board of the Jean Monnet Foundation for Europe. His career has been recognized with various awards in the field of communication, reflecting his commitment to European integration.
