Daniel Innerarity

Spanish Philosopher Specialized in AI

Daniel Innerarity is a Professor of Political Philosophy and holds the Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Democracy at the European University Institute in Florence. Among his recent books is A Theory of Complex Democracy. He has received the National Essay Award, the Prince of Viana Award for Culture, and the National Research Award in Humanities 2022.

D. in Philosophy, he has been a visiting professor at various European and American universities, such as the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies of the European Institute in Florence, the Sorbonne University, the London School of Economics and Political Science, the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme in Paris, Georgetown University and the Max Planck Institute in Heidelberg.

He is a regular contributor to El País, El Correo/Diario Vasco, and La Vanguardia. Daniel is an author of numerous books translated into English.

In 2022 he received the National Prize for Research in the Humanities. He received the Prince of Viana Culture Award in 2013 from the Government of Navarre. This award recognises the trajectory of relevant people or entities in the world of culture. In 2008 Eusko Ikaskuntza-Caja Laboral awarded him the Humanities, Arts, Culture and Social Sciences Prize.
