Jaume Collboni is the mayor of Barcelona. In 1996, he spearheaded the creation of the Technical Office of the UGT in Catalonia, where he later served on the National Executive Committee from 1998 to 2005. 

In 2011, he was elected to the Parliament of Catalonia and assumed the role of Secretary of Communications and Spokesperson for the PSC. In 2014, he won the PSC primaries to become the party’s candidate for mayor of Barcelona. In May 2016, he served as second deputy mayor. Following the May 2019 elections, and until January 2023, he served as First Deputy Mayor in charge of the Economy, Labor, Competitiveness, and Finance. Following the June 2023 elections, Jaume Collboni became the mayor of Barcelona.
