Member of the French National Assembly and former Minister for Energy Transition
Agnès Pannier-Runacher is a Renaissance Member of the French National Assembly for the Pas-de-Calais since 2024. A member of the French Government from 2018 to 2025, she successively held every portfolio related to domestic production (“Made in France”): industry, energy, agriculture, forestry, and maritime affairs and fisheries. She is known for championing reindustrialisation, the revival of nuclear power, agricultural sovereignty, environmental health and the fight against climate change. As France’s lead negotiator in several EU Councils and at the COPs, she founded the European Nuclear Alliance, through which she secured the European Commission’s full recognition of nuclear energy after years of unsuccessful attempts, and she drove the ratification of the High Seas Treaty (BBNJ).
Coming from the private sector, she headed a division of the Faurecia group in the automotive industry (2011–2013), then Compagnie des Alpes (CDA), a listed leisure company with 5,000 employees (2013–2018). She previously held executive management positions at Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris (2003–2006), the Caisse des Dépôts and the Fonds stratégique d’investissement (French Strategic Investment Fund, now Bpifrance).
