Ángel Simón has been the non-executive chairman of the Indra Group since April 2026. He is an industrial engineer and has extensive experience in the infrastructure, water, and environmental services sectors. Before joining Indra, he was CEO of CriteriaCaixa.

Previously, he served as executive chairman of Agbar and held various positions in the water management and public services sectors. He has also held positions on various boards of directors and in business organizations.

In 2020, the Catalan business association Foment del Treball honored him with the Medal of Honor for Entrepreneur of the Year 2020 for his advocacy of public-private partnerships and his work to ensure access to water and sanitation—essential services during the pandemic.
