Javier Cercas is a novelist and columnist. He has written Soldiers of Salamis and The Anatomy of a Moment, and has revitalised the dialogue between literature, history and politics, with a body of work that has been widely translated and internationally acclaimed.  

His books have been translated into more than thirty languages and have won many national and international awards, including the European Book Prize (2016) for The Impostor, the André Malraux Prize (2018) in France for The Monarch of Shadows, and the Planeta (2019) and Dagger (2023) prizes for Terra Alta.
