Second Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Spain and Minister of Labour and Social Economy
Yolanda Díaz holds a degree in law and her first public position was as a councillor on the Ferrol City Council, where she went on to serve as Deputy Mayor. In 2012, she was elected as a Member of the Parliament of Galicia, where she served as Deputy Spokesperson until 2016.
Since January 2020, she has been the Spanish Minister of Labour and Social Economy, where she has championed social dialogue. The first major agreement that she reached was the increase in the national minimum wage. In July 2021, she became the Second Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Spain.
