Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for a Clean, Just and Competitive Transition

Teresa Ribera is the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission. She is an expert in environmental law and energy policy. She previously served as Third Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Spain and Minister for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (2021–2024).  

In 2024, she was appointed Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for a Clean, Just and Competitive Transition, where she spearheads European policies on decarbonisation, energy efficiency and sustainable industrialisation, driving progress towards fulfilling the objectives of the European Green Deal.
