Since Janaury 2025, Josep María Coronas has been the Managing Director of the “la Caixa” Banking Foundation, an institution where he has also served as Secretary of the Board of Trustees (2017) and of the CriteriaCaixa Board (2024).  

He has been the General Secretary of Abertis (2010–2024), Secretary of FC Barcelona (2000–2003) and President of the Liceo Conservatory Foundation (Fundación Conservatorio del Liceo) (2009–2015). He is a member of the Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences and a trustee of various cultural foundations, including the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Miró Foundation.
