Hanno Pevkur is the current Minister of Defence of Estonia. Between 2000 and 2005, he worked in the Nõmme city district, first as Administrative Secretary and later as Head of City District. He subsequently held ministerial positions in key briefs, such as Social Affairs (2009–2012), Justice (2012–2014) and the Interior (2014–2016).  

From 2016 to 2022, he was a Member of the Estonian Parliament (Riigikogu), where he served as Vice President. He advocates close cooperation with NATO and promotes a strategic vision based on innovation and comprehensive security
