Xavier Bertrand is the current President of the Regional Council of Hauts-de-France and a former French minister. During his public-service career, he was elected as a Member of the French National Assembly for Aisne’s second constituency, a position which he held for three consecutive terms.  

Bertrand has held key positions within the French government: he served as Minister of Health from 2005 to 2007, where he implemented major reforms in the public health system, and later as Minister of Labour from 2007 to 2009.
